Wooden Wardrobe Guide

Are you considering getting a wooden wardrobe?

As someone who once worked in a furniture store, I can say that this is a good idea. In fact, I have put up this site just for the purpose of encouraging you to go get a wooden wardrobe for your bedroom and helping you shop for the right one.

Wood furniture is the top choice for the home, both inside and out, which can be attributed to several reasons.

For one, wood can be very stylish, whether with its quiet elegance or its elaborate design. It can be made to look classic or modern, and is available in a variety of finishes.

There are also different types of wood to choose from, with different prices and properties. Here are some of the most common, which you can choose from in shopping for a wooden wardrobe:

Beech – Beech wood is very hard but flexible at the same time and is also shock-resistant, with a clean surface and virtually invisible pores. It also stains and polishes well, for a beautiful finish.

Cedar – Cedar is a softwood with a nice scent that is known to repel insects, but does not take staining well, so it is often left unfinished.

Cherry – Cherry is one of the most expensive types of wood used in furniture, but is very attractive with its rich reddish color and also resistant to wear.

Mahogany – Mahogany is not as hard as beech or cherry but it is very popular because of its even texture and the fact that it does not swell or shrink in the face of temperature changes. It also finishes very well.

Maple – Maple is also very shock-resistant and often has a straight grain, which is not as attractive as other wood grains. It usually costs a lot, too.

Oak – Both white oak and red oak are commonly used in making furniture, particularly since they have distinct, beautiful grain patterns and stain well.

Pine – Pine is another popular softwood, with a nice scent and a variety of shades and patterns that make each piece of furniture look unique.

Aside from the types of wood, you can also choose from different designs of wooden wardrobe, such as sliding door wardrobes and mirrored wardrobes. This way, you can find one that complements your bedroom just right or better yet, enhance its appearance.

Wood does not just look good, though. It can also last you may years, especially if it has a quality finish and if you take proper care of it.
